Instrument Hire

York Music Hub would like to support schools in their delivery of Music curriculum and self-delivery of Whole Class Instrumental Teaching.  To be able to do this, we are providing a free instrumental hire service (£50 charge for administration and delivery) to all schools in York.   Additional support can be provided by our Learning Lead in the use and planning of these instruments, plus regular CPD opportunities for instrumental and curriculum practitioners.

 

Selecting your instruments:

As a guide, alongside each instrument class set, we have indicated which Key Stages we think each instrument class is most appropriate for and have RAG-rated how easy they are to learn and to teach, as follows:

 

Ease to learn		Ease to teach
Very accessible for most learners		Can be delivered by a non-specialist teacher with appropriate resources and limited training
Requires a little more patience		Requires more specialist knowledge and training to be delivered successfully
Achievable with regular practice and appropriate support		Should only be delivered with the assistance of a specialist instrumental teacher

 

Each school can book one class set of instruments each term (please note there is a £50 administration charge and delivery cost), booking for half a term will still be charged £50 administration and delivery. Once your school has selected the term and class set required, automatically an invoice will be created for the £50 administration charge.
