An invitation to all Music Leads from York and North Yorkshire primary schools to attend our next primary music meet up: “Why this? Why now? - Successful music curriculum planning”.
During this session, time will be given to hear key messages regarding Ofsted as well as Deep Dives in music, plus there will be a focus on the process of curriculum planning. Also time will be given to sharing or trying out new schemes of learning, while of course, enjoying cake and tea.
The session will be divided into three parts -
1. What does an outstanding Music curriculum look like in a primary school?
2. How to plan and develop a great curriculum plan - taking in to account the three pillars of progression.
3. Time available to share schemes and / or 'try-out' a topic
We encourage all colleagues to bring and share a topic or scheme that works well in their school.
Jim Reiss will give an introduction to the application of DJing in education with a hands-on workshop to help you get to grips with the basic techniques, the musicianship required to achieve them and some of the pitfalls you may face in classrooms using DJ technology. This will be a relaxed and informal workshop session with plenty of time for questions, demonstrations and actual experience on the equipment.
