Luke is principal flute of the Orchestra of Opera North. He has played as guest principal flute with many orchestras across the UK including the Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic, Hallé, BBC Philharmonic, Orchestra of English National Opera, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic amongst others. He has also toured around the globe with the London Symphony Orchestra to continents such as Asia and South America, as well as throughout Europe. He has recorded for many film soundtracks at Abbey Road Studios such as Alexandre Desplat’s ‘The Shape of Water’, which won an Oscar for best original score and can also be heard on several video game soundtracks such as ‘Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.’ He was a woodwind finalist in BBC Young Musician of the Year and also won 1st prize in the British Flute Society’s Young Artist Competition. He studied at Chetham’s School of Music, before winning a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he won the flute prize in his first year there.
